Buildxact pricing explained

Buildxact pricing is simpler than most in construction software because the paid plans do not charge per user. What moves your number is the tier you pick and the AI add-ons you stack on top of it.

How much does Buildxact cost?

Buildxact has four plans: Go is free, Foundation is $199 a month, Pro is $399 a month and Master is $599 a month. Paying annually takes 15% off in exchange for a 12-month commitment, which brings the three paid plans to $169, $339 and $509 a month. These figures are from Buildxact's US pricing page and its Go vs Pro page, and the Canadian pricing page lists the same three paid plans at the same figures, but not Go.

Buildxact's plans and add-ons exclude tax.

We build Ressio, construction management software for custom home builders and remodelers. This guide covers Buildxact pricing first. Then it shows how Buildxact and Ressio compare once the estimate is won and the job has to be run.

Buildxact pricing plans compared

PlanMonthlyAnnual (per month)Billed annually
Go$0Not offeredNot offered
Foundation$199$169$2,030
Pro$399$339$4,070
Master$599$509$6,110

Foundation, Pro and Master all include unlimited users. Buildxact does not state a user limit for Go. Go is offered on Buildxact's US site only.

What each plan adds

Go is a free, pay-as-you-go plan for AI estimating, professional proposals and Home Depot material ordering. Buildxact lists it at $0 a month and you pay as you go. It is offered in the US only.

Foundation adds lead management, digital takeoffs, the Blu Assembly Assistant, customizable quote letters, digital signatures, dealer integration, purchase orders, and training and support.

Pro adds job management, schedules, the Buildxact Onsite mobile app and the Blu Estimate Generator. This is the first tier that goes past estimating into running the job.

Master adds the Blu Takeoff Assistant, the Blu Estimate Reviewer, user access controls and priority customer support.

How add-ons change Buildxact pricing

Buildxact sells some of its AI features as monthly add-ons to a lower plan, so the add-ons you need can make the next tier the cheaper choice.

  • Foundation plus the Estimate Generator costs $199 plus $99, which is $298 a month. Pro is $399 and includes the Estimate Generator, so the extra $101 buys job management, schedules and the mobile app.
  • Pro plus both of its add-ons costs $399 plus $99 for the Takeoff Assistant plus $149 for the Estimate Reviewer, which is $647 a month. Master is $599 and includes both, plus user access controls and priority support, so it is $48 a month cheaper than Pro with both add-ons.

The add-ons are listed at monthly prices.

In Ressio, the estimate and the running of the job are one system. Each purchase order, change order and invoice is checked against the estimate's own budget lines from the day you win the job.

Here is a hypothetical remodel where framing lumber comes in higher than planned. You raise a purchase order that would take framing material to $43,200 against a $40,000 budget line. Ressio warns you it would put framing $3,200 over budget before you issue it, so you can approve it anyway or revise it.

Buildxact vs Ressio: how they compare

Buildxact starts from estimating, with AI estimating tools and job management on the higher plans. Ressio starts from the whole job. The estimate you win with becomes the budget, and change orders, approvals and invoices all run from it.

If estimating is most of your work, Buildxact is built for that. If you run custom builds where the estimate has to hold up through months of changes, Ressio is built for that work. Ressio users rate us 5 out of 5 on Capterra, with 5.0 for customer service.

How Ressio carries your estimate through the job

In Ressio, the estimate is not a document you file once the job is won. It becomes your budget, and every change after that is measured against it. Here is a hypothetical example.

You price a family kitchen in the estimate and set your markup once. Ressio works out cost, markup and client price on every line, for a $277,217 client total. When the client signs the proposal, the estimate locks and becomes the job budget.

Ressio estimate for a family kitchen with cost, markup and client price per line, totalling $236,851 cost, $40,366 markup and a $277,217 client total

Before you sign up

The add-on arithmetic above often makes the next tier the cheaper choice.

If you build custom homes, the estimate is only the start. Book a Ressio demo and see how one estimate runs your budget, change orders and invoices on a job like yours, with no commitment.
